Construction of The Bluebells, our holiday house has commenced. “Creating a unique holiday home for seriously-ill children and their families has always been the primary aim of the Trust,” said Jane Gates, Sebastian’s mother and Director of the Trust. “We’ve battled for six-and-a-half years to get to this point and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to say that building work has actually begun.”

Redwing Construction, who will be building The Bluebells, started clearing the site on 5th July in the pretty Hampshire village of North Waltham. It will open in May 2011 and will enable more than 100 families each year to holiday in one of its four-bedroomed self-catering apartments. A further 500 children will be able to access the leisure amenities on day visits and enjoy the indoor the hydrotherapy pool, games room, home cinema, music room, wet play room and multi-sensory room.

Nothing like this currently exists in the UK, making The Bluebells the first of its kind and Sebastian’s vision all the more exceptional. Click here to read more about its construction.
